Fukuoka is well known for it’s motsu-nabe (beef intestines hot pot). Not everyone is a fan of the meat but it’s worth trying if you are visiting Fukuoka. Motsu Sachi serves a number of other items besides motsu including a range of nihonshu with one of two selections local of Fukuoka.
Ippudo originally started in Fukuoka and the first store can be found there. They have English, Chinese, and Korean menus available. If you’d rather not wait in line for this particular location, there is another one just around the corner.
Get some great bite-sized gyoza at Tetsunabe in Fukuoka. The following pictures were taken at the Nakasu honten.
This is a great Izakaya in Fukuoka, near Akasaka station. If you are in town it is definitely worth a try. Live squid for 3000-4500 yen is their main specialty. Self-serve shochu for 100 yen a glass is a great bargain! Nihonshu is served as well.
